Acquaintance and Family Life
Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed is an officer of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Administration Cadre -11th Batch. He was born on 29 September 1965 in a noble Muslim family in Patabaria village of Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district. His father Mr. Maqbool Ahmed served as Chief Information Officer of the Government and Director General of the Media Institute. Mr. Mohiuddin’s mother Dilara Begum is a housewife. Mr. Mohiuddin’s wife Syeda Salma Begum is an officer of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Administration Cadre -20th Batch and serving as a Joint Secretary at present. They are enjoying the parenthood of one son in their personal life.

Education and Involvement
Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed completed his schooling at Lalmatia Housing Society Boys High School, Dhaka. Later he completed HSC from Adamji Cantonment Public School & College, Dhaka. He achieved his Bachelor in Commerce (B.Com) degree from Dhaka City College and Master in Commerce (M.Com) degree in Business Administration from Jagannath College, Dhaka. He obtained an MA degree in Govt. Financial Management from the University of Ulster, UK, and a Ph.D. degree in Micro Credit Management from Rajshahi University.

Career
Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed joined the Bangladesh Civil Service on 1st April 1993 as Assistant Commissioner. In his long career, he has served in various important positions in field administration and central administration of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Among the important posts in field administration, he has served as Assistant Commissioner, Election Officer, Assistant Commissioner (Land), and Upazila Nirbahi Officer. And in Central Administration as Assistant Secretary/Senior Assistant Secretary at ERD, Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Director General at IMED, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

Training
Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed has completed the 11th Foundation Training Course, 25th Law & Administration training, Survey & Settlement Training, 82nd ACAD Course, and 79th Senior Staff Course in his career and has received many other short trainings. He participated in Professional Development Program in Australia and SSC Study Tour in Vietnam. He also traveled to various countries including India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, China, Australia, Belgium, Ireland, England, France, and the USA as part of training and educational tours.
